January 29, 2010, Newsletter Issue #22: Layout of Lab Tables

Tip of the Week

The layout of lab tables should serve a couple of key purposes. These lab tables should be arranged in a manner which will provide all students with an equal ability to complete assignments. This means each lab table should be similarly equipped and should be arranged in a manner which will not impede the learning process for any of the students.

Safety must be carefully be considered in laying out a lab. The lab tables should be spaced apart to create adequate aisles. They should also be spaced to prevent accidents at one table from affecting other tables. In addition, the layout of lab tables must not block access to safety exits.
